Grades 4 to 8

This two-week program at the University of Toronto at Mississauga offers students an opportunity to live in residence on the university campus. Our partnership with the University of Toronto was established 25 years ago and thousands of gifted young people have cherished their special time there each year.

Students can choose one or both of the two-week sessions offered below:

• Session 1: June 28- July 10, 2009

• Session 2: July 12 - July 24, 2009

**Students return home for the interim weekend.

Courses

Course offerings will be published in early March 2009 in time for our Open House on Sunday March 8th, 2009. You can download our proposed courses from summer 2008 below.

Each day, students attend four exploratory courses chosen from a list of challenging and fun topics related to: technology, personal development, sciences, games, hobbies, psychology, philosophy, arts, fitness, and sports. 

Recreation

Distinct and unique late afternoon and evening activities are scheduled for each age group. These activities are created and developed based on student suggestions and for this reason, can differ for each session.

We run two activity sessions. The first runs from 4 - 6pm and consists of smaller group activities. In the past, we have had arts & crafts, leisure time and sports games. After dinner, from 7 - 9pm, we have larger group activities. These have included camp-wide games, theme nights, scavenger hunts, water nights, and talent shows.

Accommodation

Students live in the university residence in groups of 5 - 7 along with a counsellor who is carefully selected and trained for this program. Students will be provided with 3 nutritious meals a day in the university cafeteria. The university residence is accessed by card keys only and so the building is locked at all times for the safety of PSA staff and students.

Each unit has four bedrooms with a desk and bed, two bathrooms, a mini kitchen and a common area with a table and chairs.

Fee

$1,595.00 + GST ($79.75) = $1,674.75

The fee includes registration, university residence accommodation, daily meals in the university cafeteria, course instruction, supervision, camp t-shirt and all scheduled activities. There may be a nominal material fee associated with some courses.
