This program has become the culmination of Peel Summer Academy for many students. It provides students with a wonderful opportunity to visit a different part of Newfoundland, to experience the special hospitality of our hosts at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook, and to travel up the west coast to one of Newfoundland's special treasures, Gros Morne National Park. As a bonus, the leadership program provides valuable personal development, particularly for those who might want to become counsellors at PSA in future years.

Students will have one session offered below:

  • July 17 - July 31, 2009

Courses

During their stay at Grenfell College, students will take one of the courses offered by college staff. During their stay in Gros Morne, at Memorial University's Bonne Bay Marine Station, they will engage in the research-related activities conducted by university staff there. These activities are chosen once they are at the Marine Station, and have included creating underwater devices that are task-oriented.

Accommodation

Students will stay in the Grenfell College residence in Corner Brook and in the Marine Station in Gros Morne. Meals will be provided daily at both locations.

Fee

$2,585.00 + GST ($129.25) = $2,714.25

The fee includes registration, return air transportation from Toronto Pearson International Airport, ground transportation in Newfoundland, accommodation, daily meals, instruction, supervision, and all scheduled excursions. Students may require some personal spending money for souvenirs and free time.
